Laboratory Services

The Colusa Medical Center Laboratory is CLIA certified, offering testing in the specialties of chemistry, hematology, coagulation, transfusion and urinalysis.   We provide services to both inpatients and outpatients, and accept physician referrals.   The majority of tests are processed and reported within the same day, and “STAT” testing is available by request.

The laboratory is open for Outpatient services Monday through Friday from 7 am to 530 pm.  No appointment required.

Preparing for your visit:

What to bring:  A signed order, requisition or prescription from your doctor or healthcare provider; your photo ID; and your insurance card.

Physician instructions:  Follow any instructions your doctor has given you.  If instructed to “FAST”, do not eat or drink anything except water 10-12 hours before your lab test.  Continue to take your medications as prescribed.

Glucose Tolerance Testing:  Depending on the test ordered, you may be required to stay 1 to 4 hours.  For your safety, you will need to stay near the lab for the entire testing period.

Obtaining your laboratory results:

A report of your test results will always be sent to your healthcare provider via mail or fax.  If you wish to obtain a copy of your results from Colusa Medical Center, please visit your “Patient Portal” or contact our Health Information Department.
